Eating is a necessary part of daily life, but can be a frustrating experience for those with physical limitations or disabilities. The feeding assistance services of Med Group Home Health Care reduce the stress and potential embarrassment of eating, making the process easy and enjoyable for our clients.
The goal of Med Group Home Health Care is to empower clients to reach maximum health. As with all of our services, the feeding assistance we offer is tailored to the specific needs and desires of our clients; their comfort and dignity is our top priority. Many clients elect to pair feeding assistance with meal preparation and nutrition services. Whatever the unique circumstances of our clients may be, our helpful staff members will be on hand to help with eating food, drinking liquids, and taking medicine or vitamins.
When helping clients with eating food, we will:
- Ensure foods are the right size and temperature
- Have safe and appropriate utensils on hand
- Check at each step to see if we can be of assistance
- Help keep clients clean throughout and after the eating process
Drinking water is a health necessity. Adults should drink at least eight hours per day to stay hydrated and keep digestion running smoothly. It can be easy to forget to drink water, but our staff members will give reminders throughout the day and happily offer assistance with straws or small sips.
Taking medicine, vitamins, or other supplements at the right times are not only the doctor’s orders, but can make a significant impact on achieving optimal health. Med Group Home Health Care staff will keep track of which supplements need to be taken—and when.
Each of our clients is unique, and we strive to offer the personal care that is right for them. Med Group Home Health Care works closely with clients’ families, physicians, and other care providers to ensure our services are as effective as can be. Staff members can also accommodate diverse languages—including English, Russian, and Spanish—and are trained in cultural sensitivity.
Eating can be enjoyable instead of stressful with the personal care of Med Group Home Health Care. If you or a loved one has physical limitations, is recovering from surgery, is elderly, or has a disability that makes working in the kitchen a challenge, we’re here for you.
